Police: Burglary suspect caught red-handed | Crime
BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Benton police say they caught a man in the act of burglarizing a house on Short Street.
Police say they spotted Jeremy Gregory, 31, as he was leaving out the back of the house. When they confronted him, Gregory was weilding two large knives, according to the report. Gregory was subdued with a taser.
Gregory allegedly stole $3,000 worth of property, including two pistols, during the incident.
On 2/24, at approximately 8:30 AM, Benton polic responded to a possible burglary in progress call at 317 Short Street. Upon his arrival he located a suspect, later identified as Jeremy Gregory (31 YOA, W/M), exiting the rear of the residence.
Gregory was placed into custody and taken to the Saline County Detention Facility. He is charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of Property, Carrying a Knife, Failure to Submit to Arrest, Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
