EPA looking to give out grants to address health, environment issues

UNDATED -- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 office in Dallas is accepting grant applications for $100,000 in funding to support projects designed to educate and enable communities to understand and address local health and environmental issues.

These grants are available in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Eligible applicants from non-profit, faith-based and tribal organizations working in the community of the proposed project are encouraged to apply.

EPA Region 6 will award four grants of $25,000 to support projects that address a community's local environmental issues through collaborative partnerships.

City of Benton - Save on prescription drugs with our new prescription discount card

The City of Benton has a new program to offer savings on prescription drugs to residents who are without health insurance, a traditional benefits plan, or have prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.

The Prescription Discount Card is made available to residents by the City of Benton in collaboration with the National League of Cities (NLC) and is made possible through the City of Benton’s membership in NLC.

The card is FREE to all Benton residents, regardless of age, income or existing health insurance. By using this card you may save an average of 20% off the regular retail price of prescription drugs at participating pharmacies.
