Two arrested for storage unit break-ins

BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Benton detectives say they arrested two suspects as part of an investigation into break-ins and thefts from storage facilities in the city.

The two suspects, Jack Daniel Harrison, 29, and Machelle Andrews Harrison, 29, were both arrested on Aug. 17. The exact number of storage units the Harrisons allegedly broke into is still being investigated.

Police say the two are also tied to break-ins of other units in Saline County.

All of the break-ins occurred during the daytime hours. According to police, tens of thousands of dollars' worth of merchandise was stolen, a "large quantity" of which was recovered with the Harrison's arrest.

Both are charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering, theft, and criminal mischief. Additionally, Jack Harrison is charged with two counts of theft of a firearm and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

This is an on-going investigation and more charges could be forthcoming in the future.
