Extreme will take the stage on Saturday, August 8 at Magic Springs

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Chart topper Extreme will take the stage on Saturday, August 8 at Magic Springs’ Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Extreme, an American rock band, is headed by frontmen Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt.

The band has released five studio albums, two EPs and two compilation albums since their formation and has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and achieved their greatest success with their album Pornograffitti, which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold and double platinum. That album featured the acoustic ballad single "More Than Words", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - The Benton community will join together for for the first Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime and drug prevention event on August 4th/ 

This is the first NNO event hosted in Benton this year with others planned later this fall due to some of the groups not wishing to participate in the heat of the summer or for other logistical reasons. 

  

National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

17-year-old dies after crashing car into home

BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - A 17-year-old female died early Thursday morning after crashing her vehicle into a home located near Northshore Drive Wednesday night. 

The Benton Police Department responded to an accident around 11:14 p.m. Wednesday, July 29. According to reports, the girl driving the car was traveling west on Northshore Drive, when the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into the rear end of a home on Jasmine Drive. 

The girl was quickly transported via med flight to a hospital in Little Rock. At around 3 a.m., police received word that the girl had succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Rock icon and media start Bret Michaels will bring his “True Grit” tour to the stage on Saturday, August 1 at Magic Springs’ Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs.

The show begins at 8 p.m.  

Bret Michaels is a man of many hats including the one he wears on stage. He is a singer-songwriter, musician, actor, director, screenwriter, producer and reality television personality.

He first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the metal band Poison, selling more than 45 million records worldwide and 15 million records in the United States alone. The band charted 10 singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, including six Top 10 singles and the number-one single, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A magical world of mythical creatures, wands and flying brooms that left the world spellbound is coming to the Robinson Theater.

 

This local hotspot is hosting a week long marathon featuring all eight Harry Potter films in celebration of its July 31 birthday.

LOVERBOY

Loverboy is a Canadian rock group who accumulated numerous hit songs, earning four multi-platinum albums and selling millions of records.

The band's hit singles, particularly "Turn Me Loose" and "Working for the Weekend," have become arena rock staples and are heard on classic rock and classic hits radio stations  today. They are currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

ALEXANDER, Ark. (KTHV) - Two people arrested after police said they burglarized a home with a deceased occupant inside.

Lt. Jeff Silk with the Saline County Sheriff's Office said 45-year-old Christopher Price and 37-year-old Spring Ebbert were caught by neighbors entering the back of a home on the 6000 block of Sharon Circle through a rear window and leaving the front of the home with boxes in their hands.
