LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Power crews are making progress in restoring power to customers who lost it when Isaac swept through Arkansas on Thursday.

At its peak, more than 16,000 Entergy customers were in the dark. As of Friday night, over 4,700 customers remained without electricity.

The utility company shows Mississippi County has the highest number of outages, with more than 2,000 still in the dark.

Entergy - which serves customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas - says Isaac has been the utility's fourth-largest storm in terms of power outages.

The state's largest electric utility has crews assessing damage and restoring power as conditions allow it to be done safely.

"Our team has been preparing for the event to ensure we restore outages to electrical service as safely and as quickly as possible," said Brady Aldy, transmission and distribution operations director for Entergy Arkansas, Inc. "We do ask for our customers' patience with service interruptions."
