BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - A man was taken into custody Wednesday morning after driving his vehicle on to a rooftop of a business in Benton.

On Wednesday, just before 8 a.m., the Benton Police Department received reports of a reckless vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Military Road, near the Interstate 30 overpass. Minutes later, police received information that a vehicle had left the roadway on Highway 5 N. and had landed on top of a Top Shoes in Benton.

When police arrived at the business, it was determined that the vehicle on top of Top Shoes was the same one that had been originally been reported as driving recklessly.

Dickerson is charged with DWI-Drugs, Possession of Controlled Substance (suspected Methamphetamine), Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Possessing Prohibited Article, and Driving While Suspended. Additionally, Dickerson is an active parolee out of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
