Two women arrested on drug charges at Benton motel

BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - Two women were arrested on Thursday night at the Capri Inn Motel for numerous drug related charges. 

After receiving numerous complaints of drug trafficking in and around the Capri Inn, the Benton Police Department narcotic division conducted an investigation, which led to the felony arrest of Capri Inn employee, 47-year-old Brenda Peebles. Janice Brown, 59, who was staying in a separate room, was also arrested . 

Numerous drugs, including suspected methamphetamine and crack-cocaine, various prescription pills, a glass pipe and several clear plastic baggies were seized from inside Peebles' motel room. Detectives simultaneously served a warrant on Brown in a separate motel room and seized two suspected crack cocaine rocks, two glass pipes with white residue, a razor blade, two mirrors and a metal push rod. 

Peebles faces felony charges of Conduct Constituting Conspiracy for Delivery of Methamphetamine, Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (methamphetamine), two counts of Possession of a Controlled Schedule II Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Schedule IV Substance with Intent to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug Premises and an enhanced charge of Proximity to Certain Facilities.

Brown faces felony charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance Crack-Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Use of another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime, Maintaining a Drug Premises, and an enhanced charge of Proximity to Certain Facilities.
